360° Photography ♡ 360 Panorama WordPress Plugin
The shots, mainly known from virtual tours, allow customers to explore rooms themselves and, in the case of a virtual tour, even walk through them.
Previously, these shots were quite elaborately created with a nodal point adapter and a DSLR with a fisheye lens. However, since smaller images with a maximum width of 8192px are preferred on the web for loading speed, today's focus is on small 360° cameras like Insta360, Tetha Z1, or GoPro – mobile cameras with 2 x 180° lenses. This allows for very fast photography of many rooms, even with 32-bit HDR technology and people in the room.
DIRSCHL 360 Panorama WordPress Plugin
I tested many plugins myself before writing this panorama plugin. It not only supports common panorama types but can also label and control them, and provides tiles in WebP format for good loading times. You can already see it above without labels and below in different panorama types. The control system is also new, as it operates without buttons.
Furthermore, it automatically recognizes whether it is an equirectangular image - and can also display 360° panoramas without nadir and zenith images.

Virtual Tours with krpano
In most cases, a 360° panorama will suffice. If you want to create a VR tour, you will also need software. The best tool for this is probably still krpano. We use this – and are happy to get to work for you. An extension of DIRSCHL 360 Panorama is not planned for now, but not ruled out if there is demand.
What do you need for this?
I bring everything necessary:
- Tetha Z1 and smartphone (for photos from the ground)
- DJI drone with 360° panorama function for aerial panoramas
- Computer with Lightroom and Ricoh Plugin for Tetha Z1
- Bridge CC for panoramas with DJI drones.
- ptGui, if stitching causes problems
- Adobe Photoshop for Nadir and Zenith correction
- Exif Fixer so that the tours also work on Facebook and co.
- Topaz AI for sharpness and noise correction
In addition, we have various tripods to be able to take very unusual positions.
Control can be done immediately via smartphone or on the computer as a 360° recording.
Of course, we also have the DSLR, fisheye, and nodal point adapter here. Those who want higher resolutions and best quality are still well served with it. However, the effort is then about 3 times higher, which usually doesn't pay off.
Drone Panoramas in Portrait, Landscape, and 360° Equirectangular
For drone panoramas, we ensure an unobstructed view upwards. We photograph in RAW and process the images in full resolution. For the web, they also receive smaller resolutions, including Exif modification for social media posts.
