What does RAG mean?

RAG stands for Retrieval-Augmented Generation. Before an answer is created, the system retrieves relevant, approved information from the website and the editorial Answer Library. Those sources form the context for the answer.

The model is not retrained on your website. Instead, each request is grounded in controlled sources at runtime. This reduces unsupported statements, keeps service and product links current, and makes the origin of an answer understandable.

Important: RAG is the technical foundation. Content becomes citation-ready through clear authorship, robust claims, visible evidence, freshness, an unambiguous language and an indexable primary page.

The complete optimization workflow

1. Index website knowledge: published WordPress content is extracted and kept strictly separate by language.
2. Retrieve measured questions: Google Search Console supplies real queries, impressions, clicks and landing pages rather than an invented keyword list.
3. Check duplicates and destinations: existing pages, similar questions, legacy URLs and potential cannibalization are identified.
4. Maintain answers: approved answers are assigned to the best primary page. Optional AI may create a source-grounded draft but never publishes it automatically.
5. Enrich the right pages: approved questions render server-side on the relevant service or knowledge page. A new question page is proposed only when it carries independent value.
6. Measure and improve again: direct source clicks, delivered answers and contact actions are compared with organic GSC development. The next manually started run uses those findings.

Each backend step is visible: query retrieval, duplicate checking, click measurement, answer maintenance, page routing and quality auditing remain traceable in the run log.

Page first, not a website made entirely of questions

A question does not automatically receive a new URL. Answer Engine first checks whether an existing service, product or knowledge page already covers the intent.

• Strong page exists: add the answer and relevant internal links there.
• Several closely related questions: use them to strengthen one central topic page.
• Independent, substantial information need: only then propose a new guide or landing page.
• Duplicate or competing question: merge it rather than creating another thin page.

The website grows dynamically without becoming an FAQ farm. If the plugin is deactivated, automatically appended question sections disappear again while editorial pages remain unchanged.

Success measurement without overstating causality

The plugin deliberately separates three evidence levels:

• Directly attributable: delivered answers, Answer Engine source clicks and contact actions.
• Independently comparable: Matomo events and the most-clicked destination pages.
• Organic development: impressions and clicks for measured questions in Google Search Console.

An increase in GSC is an important signal, but it does not by itself prove that the plugin caused it. That is why attributable plugin clicks and broader search development remain separate.

No. It is a controlled question, search and content engine for WordPress. Answers are derived from approved website knowledge and editorial records and lead to verifiable destination pages.

Do I need an AI API?

No. The index, curated answers, GSC analysis, page audit and link fallback work without a model call. An API is needed only for optional, individually reviewable answer drafts.

Does AI publish new pages automatically?

No. New answers and pages remain under editorial control. The optimization run proposes, checks and logs changes but does not publish unreviewed AI content.

Can the plugin guarantee AI-search citations?

No. It improves accessibility, source clarity, structure and freshness, but external search and AI systems decide their own rankings and citations.

Does the plugin require Divi?
